Projektbeschreibung der*des Nominierenden

Professor Mac Low is a leading theoretical astrophysicist in the study of the dynamics of circumstellar and interstellar gas in order to understand the formation and evolution of planets, stars and galaxies, using gas dynamics and magnetohydrodynamics simulations. He has made important contributions to understand how the interplay between turbulence and self-gravity initiates and controls stellar birth. In Germany, he continues his research on supernova explosions on large scales and how dust in protostellar disks forms into meteorites, planetesimals and planets on small scales.
